Inner Sunset Apartment Makeover

The client for this project initially contacted me to help him hang a sizeable collection of art that he had inherited from his family.  After our meeting and seeing the apartment for the first time, the program expanded and he decided that he was interested in taking a comprehensive approach to get his apartment settled in once and for all.  With the new influx of pieces from his family, the apartment was feeling crowded and disjointed.

He admitted that he had a very constrained budget but he was willing to invest in his space.  That being said, it took a bit more time to find the pieces we needed that fit within our price range.  Most of the components were already there be we still needed to find some key elements.  I was able to find him some amazing deals on pieces that I came across on Craigslist as well as some sidewalk scores that I had refinished.  It was definitely more challenging than I had anticipated but the end result was worth the extra effort.

Note:  At the time when I took the before photos, they were just intended for personal reference, not to post in conjunction with after pictures.  Hopefully you’ll be able to get the gist of the layout despite some different composition and angles of the before and after shots.
